Monadenium Rubellum

Monadenium Rubellum is a striking succulent with distinctive red-tinged foliage and unique branching patterns. This compact plant produces small, delicate pink or purplish hooded flowers mostly during spring and summer, reaching a mature height of roughly 30 cm to 2–5 feet depending on age and growing conditions.

Care is straightforward: provide bright, indirect light or partial shade — more sunlight brings out deeper red colors, but avoid harsh direct sun to prevent sunburn. Use a very fast-draining, gritty succulent or cactus mix amended with sand, pumice, or perlite. Water moderately from spring to autumn once the topsoil has dried out, then keep it much drier in winter when the plant naturally goes dormant. Overwatering easily leads to root or rhizome rot.

Please note: Like other members of the Euphorbiaceae family, Monadenium Rubellum contains a milky sap that is poisonous if ingested and can cause intense skin and eye irritation. Handle with care and keep away from children and pets.
