Vitex Negundo Bonsai 6"

Vitex negundo, commonly known as the Chinese chaste tree, is a fast-growing outdoor bonsai celebrated for its striking hollow trunks, textured reddish-brown bark, and fragrant lilac-to-blue flowers. This specimen features compound palmate leaves with 3 to 5 slender, serrated leaflets and produces delicate flower clusters in white, lilac, blue, or purple.

This bonsai thrives in full sun or bright semi-shade and is naturally heat-resistant and drought-tolerant. Water generously during hot summer months and moderately throughout the rest of the year, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings. Use a well-draining mix such as Akadama and volcanic gravel or pumice. Repot every 2 to 3 years in early spring. Prune heavily in early spring to shape the tree and encourage leaf reduction and ramification. Wire can be applied during the active growing season to refine branch structure.

Perfect for collectors seeking a bonsai with character, age-like appearance, and minimal maintenance demands.
